R.O.P.E., Inc. (Restoration and Options for People Excluded) is a faith-based not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization organized under the state of Illinois in 1997 to serve those who have been excluded from their community as a result of drug addiction and/or incarceration.

During the summer of 2004, R.O.P.E., Inc. purchased property to house men newly released from incarceration who desire to make a smooth transition back into society. This program is referred to as Primary Purpose. The Primary Purpose Program serves men over the age of 25 who have been incarcerated as a result of crimes committed in support of their addiction, i.e., robbery, burglary, selling drugs, etc.

The Primary Purpose Program is always seeking men who are desperate to change their lives but don’t know where to begin. The Primary Purpose program uses biblical principles to change old behavior.

The Primary Purpose Program under the leadership of the Program Director, R.O.P.E offers supportive services such as recovery services, job assistance, money management, semi-private rooms, spiritual support and transportation from Sheridan Correctional Center.

R.O.P.E., Inc. accepted its first resident in January 2005. R.O.P.E., Inc. is excited about the results of men who have participated in the Primary Purpose Program.
